This is the settlement where <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2015\/02\/28\/nyregion\/exxon-mobil-settles-with-new-jersey-over-environmental-damage.html?_r=0\">Christie turns a $9B settlement for polluting our state into a $250M one<\/a> \u2013 and then takes the $250M. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.northjersey.com\/news\/9-000-letters-emails-protest-exxon-settlement-1.1352322\">James M. O&#8217;Neill wrote<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Kimi Wei of Fair Lawn wrote that Exxon \u201cshould be made to understand that the earth is a common asset belonging to all. It cannot be used by some for profit while many others experience loss of enjoyment and access to the land.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Almost sounds profound, right?<\/p>\n<p>Senator Raymond Lesniak is taking a strong stand in favor of making Exxon-Mobil pay what the damages are worth. He&#8217;s got a <a href=\"http:\/\/raymondlesniak.com\/make-governor-chris-christie-accountable-for-the-exxon-mobil-settlement\/\">petition<\/a> going.
