How messed up in this? Companies can hide the cancer causing ingredients they use in cosmetics and beauty products by calling them “fragrance”. The ingredients in fragrance are protected by Trade Secret laws and can be just about anything. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) cautions us to be careful with “fragrance free” products too: fragrance free doesn’t mean chemical free.
